The most nervous part for all the aspiring students who wish to study in the united states of america. I have seen a lot of people who have got really high scores in the GRE and TOEFL but still they will not be able to make up to get their student visa. whats the reason?

1. You should not have too many backdrops(more than 6 is too many).

2. Be sure to speak english properly and clearly. They dont expect us to speak their way but they want to make a conversation. Believe me or not americans are all very gregarious. So you can crack some nice jokes, give them some nice compliments(as long as it is decent). As a matter of fact doing these would increase your chances of getting a visa.

3. Have a strong finaincial statement. have enough to cover your studies and living. Dont show them toooo much as they would again suspect you as potential immiggrant(yes it is stupid).

4. Dress neatly and be presentable.

If you do all these then you know what? You have the usa visa in your passport.

CONNECTING DB TO SWING

Connecting DB to swing is made so very easy that u have to call the server from the client. The only thing we need to do is to give the IP address of the application in the place where we would give localhost or something which would define the name of the system where it would work...

There are 4 different ways to connect a DB to any application... Probably the method 4 would be the easiest to use as far as the networking of the DB are concerned.. you could find many different sites offering information abt how to connect and make a global DB and stuff.\\
I have not implemented all these as of now but i would be trying it soon....., Hope for another post within few days...

Luck never helps

The worst thing to depend upon on earth is LUCK. This stupid stuff will not help anyone at the needed time. The even more worse part is that it would make us wait and would let us drop in the end. The common scenario is that only when luck is not favouring us we would think that it have favoured others. One thing which we always forget is that we are also someone for someone else. The best thing to do is not to trust on LUCK and let the LUCK to trust on us.

Vadivelu is the best comedian in the Kollywood ....the best thing abt this guy is his slang.... Of course there are other good ppl like vivek and so on but the point is that vivek could be a little boring at times because of his messages or his stereotypic old slang . Morevoer his comments would be a little harsh though they are right therby he will not be able to cover the entire group of audience... On the other hand vadivelu is super cool...he is not so civilised in real life but still he is better on screen\..... the way he changes his voice and face is so very funny and makes us laugh even without thinking...

Film Fare awards

The best film fair i have seen. The best part was saif and SRK. These 2 guys were rocking and they made it a complete fun. the highlight was when saif and srk were dancing with towels on.
It was fun to see them making fun of all the co stars.

Vidya balanm was he one who got embarrassed when these 2 gave her the narangi award. Well the bad part was karenna got the best actress award. I dont think that she really deserves it.

where can i find aussies ego now?

Our guys have slammed shit on their face. I really doubt where would they go to keep their face. They had a big mouth more than anything. The top order dropped so soon. I think it would be better if they be good to Indians because they have created their own fall now. They have kindled the spirits of the Indians and thats the reason they have lost the match.

I think all the big mouths(Symonds,Hayden and Ponting) would
keep their ass shut hereafter and stop challenging indians

Best car on Indian road

Well those who have been to India would know the difficulties of driving a car in India. with the road conditions and the mentality of the people it is best to go for car which requires less maintenance. Therefore for a compact family it is best to go for a maruthi zen. This is a decent car which requires almost zero maintenance. This is very good for college students and compact families. If you feel that u need more space then u could go for a SUV. Toyota Qualis and Innova both are good. qualis lacks style but it is good in efficency. innova is better than any other car as it has style and also it is so very sophisticated.

Ipod:

Ipod has lost its shine. 2years ago ipod was on the summit of fame for its clarity of songs and its effect but now it is not able to compete with other mp3 players. Sony is doing a great job, the sound clarity is awesome and it is also much cheaper. On the other hand ipod is way too costlier for the effect it gives.

The primary disadvantages of ipod are

• Costlier
• Very fragile
• Its accessories are way too costly
• It does not have a service station in most countries.

Fish tank:

Having a fish tank in your house is the coolest thing. It would make ur house even more lively. How to maintain a fish tank and the fishes? Here is the toughest part and it would be in the initial stage alone. You have to make sure that the fish is able to roam around well so that has less number of fishes. Having more fishes would make it look bad and at the same time it is also hard to maintain it.

The points which u need to keep in mind are:

• Have less number of fishes (don’t have more than 7 fishes irrespective of the size of the tank).
• 
  
• Don’t over feed it.(over feeding could cost the life of fish)

• Clean water in regular intervals.

REval hoax

hey anna univ ppl... the rumor have started again. there is a hoax that the reval results are abt to come on feb 27th.. ofcourse there is nothing specified explicitly in any of the sites but still it is an expected date. those who have applied for the photocopy have received it . so i think that it is fair enough to say that the results are going to come on Wednesday. anyways lets keep our fingers crossed and pray to god.

Irritating symonds- Biased ICC

This is so very wrong in the part of ICC. Ishant sharma was very quite once he took symonds wicket yesterday and it was symonds who initiated some crap which made Ishant go perturbed. As ishant is not so very good in english it would be really embarrasing for him if someone says some thing once he took a wicket. ICC made a very biased decision by charging Ishant a fine upto 50% of his days salary. Ofcourse this would not hurt Ishant to a gr8 deal because he is earning much more in India but still it is bad on the ICC part to fine him alone. Moreover Symonds should have kept his ass shut and should have gone out of the ground without uttering a word. BAD AUSSIES!!!!

Indian batsmen sucks

This is really horrible.... I dont think that the bowlers can do anything further than this.... Of course there was a bad bowling after their 6th wicket but still finishing of them at 203 is fairly good and if the batsmen are not able to score a mere 204 then it is a shame on their part. Most of our batsmen are hurt. Some dont have potential, some have bad luck. After a very long time we were able to see UV batting well and it was totally unnecessary for him to go for that big shot. Dhoni made a terrible mistake by asking his by runner to run when the ball is too near. No one had that thought to stand and playing till the end to win the game. The top order collapsed like anything and it was almost certain that we would lose when dhoni went out of the ground. Even the aussies didnt expect that they would win. it is such a disgrace.

PSBB in Australia

Some of the ardent fans of cricket who are studying in PSBB at nungambakkam have gone to Australia to meet our Indian cricket team. These young talents went to meet dhoni and his boys at Adelaide. On friday they arived in adelaide, the capital of south Australia to participate in the third solar citiesto be held here from feb 17 to feb 20 . The project titled How to make chennai an eco friendle and sustainable city ranked at the top of all entries. A member of this team said "the project began in the middle of july 2007 and i used to be awake till 2 am preparing for this project."

Jackie Chan for audio release:

Jackie Chan has now accepted to come for the audio release of Kamal Hassan’s next film Dasavatharam. This film is produced by the Oscar ravichandran and directed by K.S Ravikumar. Kamal takes up 10 roles in this film and it seems that it would take more than 5 hours for kamal to do the make up which would last for just an hour.

The producer have said that the release would be in the Nehru stadium on the second week of march. Celebrities like amitab bachan , abishek and aishwarya rai have accepted the consent. Tollywood stars like chiranjeevi and mohan lal , mammoothy,upendra and nagarjuna will be approached once the date of release is finalized.

Tourist spot- Manali

Manali a very good tourist spot in India located at Himachal Pradesh . This is actually a hill station where u could enjoy the climate and enjoy the natures beauty. From manali there is a spot called Rohthang pass. It would take u around one and a half an hour to reach the peak. Remember that only small vehicles like muv and suv. U could also get those heavy winter clothes from the foot of the hill. Normally they charge u around 100 rs for the entire outfit which includes a long coat , big boots,and a pair of gloves. This should be more than enough to resist the cold. The most important point once u reach the top is to know where ur car is parked. Many people face this prob. The chillness would increase all of a sudden and u would in a hurry to get into ur car but cant find it. so make sure u dont do this mistake. There would not be any signal in the top so knowing where ur car is parked is so very important. The rest is for plesure. u also have skatings and other games which u could play. Go there and have fun.

Gatrode

Gatrode is the coolest drink ever for all those who r now practicing any games. This is really rejuvenating and would make u fresh with energy in just matter of seconds. This could be ideal for those who play basketball and tennis under a hot sun. It is also available in India. The price of the bottle is not so nominal that everyone can go for it daily for the sake of practicing or playing some games but for those who are really going to get deeper into games would certainly benefit out of it. Not only for this but it is also a cool drink to have it among friends while chatting. Just a bottle and few crunches would do to a gr8 deal.

The game was good today. one thing which is common these days is that the bowlers and the lower middle order are good. Sachin is working well only if the situation demands to sustain his position in the team. Gambhir is doing a gr8 job. He was consistent in all the matches till now. The finals are still left. Anyways loads of credit to Ishant sharma and Praveen.

Most intense laser in the world developed

A record-breaking beam has been developed at the University of Michigan. Just how powerful is it - and what will it be used for? Is this really the most intense laser in the universe? Yes, that's what scientists working on the HERCULES laser at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor claim. "It is the highest-intensity laser that has been shown," says Karl Krushelnick, a member of the team running the experiment.

The intensity of a laser beam is the amount of energy it delivers per unit time per unit area. This record-breaking beam actually has very low energy - at just 20 joules, it is less than the 8,000 joules stored in a tic tac - but the energy is squeezed into a tiny spot (1.3 micrometres in diameter, about a hundred times thinner than a human hair) for a very short time, just 30 femtoseconds (10-15 seconds).

So the beam has an intensity of 2 x 1022 watts per square centimetre: two orders of magnitude more intense than achieved before. It can also pulse once every 10 seconds. Other, more powerful lasers can pulse, at best, once a minute, and aren't focused on such a small spot.

How did they achieve that? They used a technique called chirped-pulse amplification. The laser beam is stretched out with an optical amplifier to make it last much longer than usual, then it is squeezed back into a shorter pulse.

This boosted the HERCULES titanium sapphire laser from a power of 50 terawatts to 300 terawatts, which was then focussed on a tiny spot to give the recordbusting beam.

Is this the most powerful beam ever? No - petawatt (1015) lasers exist. For example the Astra Gemini laser at Rutherford Appleton Laboratory in Harwell, U.K., which opened in November, 2007, has a 0.5 petawatt laser.

What will they do with this super-intense beam? Such intense laser light is uncharted territory. The electrons in any material hit by the beam are accelerated to the point that they are almost travelling at the speed of light, transporting those electrons out of the classical world and into relativistic, quantum, territory.

Theoretical possibility Theoretically it could be possible to make the electrons travel so quickly that their mass increases. But for now, applications for the HERCULES high-intensity beam are likely to be in improving and adding to current laser technologies.

For example, such an intense beam might make it possible to have a tool as powerful as the Diamond light source at Rutherford Appleton lab, but taking up a small lab space rather than five football pitches.

There is also a chance that the high-intensity beam could be investigated for its fusion power. At the moment, it is possible to trigger nuclear fusion with a high-energy laser. Krushelnick says that the upgraded HERCULES beam could be used to help understand the physics behind the process.

What if I get caught in the beam? "You'd get a bad burn," says Krushelnick. But it would not be horrific, he adds - remember that the pulse doesn't contain a huge amount of energy and lasts for only 30 femtoseconds.

Dennis lille:

Former Australian cricket player dennis lille is now in Chennai. The best thing about it is that he is going to start a vine yard here in Chennai. Sri Lanka really needs some coaching:

Sri Lanka is in a very bad position. They have lost it again. Sri lankans have lost their game to Australians in 63 runs. This is so very shocking hat they are not even able to par the other team.

I don’t think any one other than Muthaiah bowled well and no one can forget such a simple catch which was dropped.

One thing which is wondering me is that I don’t know how India lost it to sri lankans.

Anyways lets wait for the match between India and Australia tomo. If India wins this match then the finals would be between India and Australia.

Dutt’s Goa wedding is off

The Sanjay Dutt-Manyata marriage proceedings of February 7 in Goa stand cancelled after the couple submitted affidavits saying they wished to withdraw proceedings in Goa. The couple were later married under Hindu rites in Mumbai. Controversy dogged the paper work they submitted before a Goa sub-registrar, resulting in an inquiry into a six-month residence certificate Manyata Dilnashin Ahmed Sheikh submitted here.

On Wednesday, the couple’s advocate submitted a joint affidavit to the marriage sub-registrar. The affidavit stated they wished to withdraw registration proceedings in Goa. It said they had wanted to register their marriage under the Special Marriages Act of 1954 but later learnt the act had not been extended to Goa. Sanjay Dutt did not want to comment on the latest development beyond saying, “Manyata and I will address the press at the right time,” while his friend and marriage witness, Bunty Walia, said, “This is the price you pay for being a celebrity.”

Goa still continues civil marriage proceedings under the Portuguese Civil Code of 1867. With the joint affidavit, the couple’s intent-to-marry proceedings stand cancelled, marriage sub-registrar Chandrakant Pissurlekar told mediapersons. Proceedings here go through two stages, an intent to marry and a second formal marriage registration after 10 days. Sanjay Dutt and Manyata had gone through the first stage on February 7.

Meanwhile, questions about her residence certificate will come up on March 7, the date fixed for a showcause hearing before a quasi-judicial government official. In questions that came up over the veracity of her six-month residence certificate, Manyata had been asked to show cause why the certificate should not be revoked.

Trecking

The most thrilling job. I went for a trecking in nilgris and it was just so very good. The entire trip was totally adventures and we were walking around 30 kilo meters a day. we were in the edge of our life. The most thrilling part when we went to the top of the hill. There were heavy winds and it was so cold that a guys jaw got stuck and was not able to move his jaws.Then we took him to the hospital the next day and operated. Far more worse things wee when we went down the hill. It was so very sloppy and slippery that we were full of mud and water. We saw a quagmire and a guy got caught in it. To rescue him was a great deal. There were lots of wild elephants running in the same path infront of us which made our journey even tougher. The walk would be so very tiring that we can see a smiles in all faces when we reach a camp.

It is terribly happy to think of all those things now.
